It is the height of the long awaited summer vacation. Despite the alarming international situation (terrorist attacks, coup d’états, migrants, Brexit, growing nationalist movements in many countries etc.), or maybe because of it, we tried to make one “relaxing” summer issue.
Unintentionally or not, we present to you some specialists working in furniture industry who are of different age, have different educational background, have had a varied career before choosing the furniture manufacturing and all of them are from…Plovdiv. Since problems in education and the lack of specialists is a key problem in almost every furniture company, we interviewed the director of the biggest vocational school in interior architecture and woodworking in Bulgaria – Konstantin Konstantinov. In the “Young in the business” column we will introduce you to a boy who has been following in his parents’ footsteps and is now “in his comfort zone” – Nikolay Skachkov. We will also share with you the point of view of an interesting lady who does not manufacture, but sells furniture – Mariana Ivanova. The profile of the professionals from Plovdiv will be rounded off by a young designer who studied architecture but recently found the magic of woodworking on a small scale – Denitsa Krapova from Studio Piron.
